Pain Makes Us Wiser, Gentler & More Understanding

A friend told me a while ago that there were some women in my hometown community that don’t like me. She said she’s sees me supporting them online and wondered if I knew. They are in the wheelhouse of the work I do.

I didn’t know. I was surprised.

They don’t act like they don’t like me or like they’re judging me. In fact, they act the opposite.

My surprise turned to wonder then faded into back burner awareness. And that’s where it’ll stay.

The beautiful thing about transforming, turning pain into power is eventually you don’t notice — when “haters” exist you are oblivious.

What a good place to be.

Reality is a reflection of how we feel inside.

And because I no longer hate myself..

I don’t judge myself (as much as I used to, let’s be real)

I take gentle care of my ever learning, falling, failing, getting back up little self…

Because I am human, here to figure it all out…

I just didn’t notice.

“Haters” don’t exist.

And if they do, it doesn’t matter.

The most judgemental people that we know

are the hardest on themselves.

With wisdom comes compassion.

I used to judge me too.
